All weigh-ins should be reported to Patricia today by 5 pm at the club or brought to the club Saturday 4-6pm at the weigh-in. We do not have access to emails or voicemails when Patricia is not there. OAC Youth Halloween Party
Save the date! Saturday, October 27th at 4 pm. All OAC youth and their friends are invited. Watch for details. Prizes for the best costumes.
Awards Night is Saturday, November 10 6:00pm
Don’t miss our annual Awards Night Dinner and celebration starting at 6pm on Saturday, November 10th.
This is the evening we recognize those members catching great fish during the season, and others who have gone above and beyond to contribute to the Club.
You should have received raffle tickets in the mail this week. Simply cut the numbers on the far right of the tickets and mail back with a check or call Patricia and she can take a credit card. You keep the left side of the ticket as your stub. Patricia has a master list of all raffle tickets and will make sure your tickets are processed correctly. You do not need to be present to win. Last year’s winner walked away with over $1,500 cash! Proceeds from our annual fundraiser help the OAC fund all of the great events through out the year. Your support is very much appreciated. One member reported receiving the 2011 letter with their tickets. If this happened to you, let Patricia know and she can send you the current 2012 letter.
Fishing Report
This time of year, the fish are on the move. One day I get a report that Monomoy is hot, the next, it’s a ghost town. As fish are in migrating mode, they come into an area, feed and move on. Sometimes, for just one tide cycle. If you get it right, you will be in for some great action. Dave Reid reports he was part of a 5 acre bass blitz off Montauk Point. Bob Seidler caught a nice 12.4 lb blue, which landed him in 2nd for bluefish in the Derby. Someone else told me there are still good size bass up in Maine, so our fall fishing should be far from over. There are reports of some monster sharks caught south of the Vineyard. The Three Bays are loaded with bait and bass have been seen crashing menhaden. Get out and fish!
