Manager’s Corner- William Ferretti
By any standard, the 2018 Ladies Shoal Troll was a gigantic success!
Number of women participants: 76
Number of boats: 22
Money raised for Making Strides $17,000+
Biggest fish: 25.35 lbs
Fun & smiles: everyone
I must admit when I arrived at OAC this past winter the work on the Ladies Shoal Troll had already begun. The flyer was printed in January and I had absolutely no idea what all the hype was about. Now I know!
Let’s start with the cause: funds raised will benefit American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer ON Cape Cod. The proceeds are put to use locally- free rides to/from cancer treatment centers for patients on the Cape, helping women manage side effects of treatment, lodging at Boston Hope Lodge at no cost to CC patients -just to name a few.
An event of this size requires two basic elements: organization and execution. Special thanks to Bob Lewis and Missy McGraw for a job well done!
Please see the tournament results below as well as the updated YTD Sellars Points.
And, a few good photos.

Members with children or grandchildren under 16 are encouraged to join us for a boat scavenger hunt around Three Bays in search of various items. Don’t worry if you do not have a boat- you are still welcome to participate and we will find a spot on a boat for you. If anyone is willing to take on a few extra passengers, that would be great.
Please RSVP to the Club bu August 10th.
Do NOT forget the life jackets for the children.
