Board of Directors Ballots

You will receive a ballot for the 2013 openings on The Board of Directors. You may vote for up to 4 candidates. Please return your ballot to the OAC in the return envelope provided – the ballot has to be received by Monday, Oct. 31^st.

OAC 2012 Derby

The Derby ends in less than 2 weeks. We will have a cook out at the OAC Saturday October 13^th at 6 pm. The scale will be open 4 pm – 6pm that day and all weigh ins must be reported at the club by 6pm. Find the up-to-date standings for the Derby on our website:

Ron Murphy Trip This Friday October 5^th

Member Henry O’ reported some great top water striper fishing out at Monomoy yesterday, catching bass up to 25 lbs on light tackle. We have 3 spots available for this Friday, October 5^th with Captain Ron Murphy on Stray Cat.  At this point, the weather looks fantastic and this is a great way to get an early start to your Columbus Day week end. Of Interest: ‘Nor-Easter Men’- History Channel – Thurs., 9pm

Member Eric Wittet and his wife Ellen attended the Working Waterfront Festival in New Bedford this weekend, and had the pleasure of going aboard the dragger “F/V Apollo” and spending considerable time with Captain Shawn Machie, while touring the vessel. Aside from being very interesting, Shawn informed them that this Thurday (10/4) @ 9pm on the History channel the special “Nor-Easter Men” features the “F/V Apollo” & crew fishing on Georges Bank. Thanks Eric, for passing along this note of interest for OAC members.

Below is a photo sent in by OAC member Steve Paglierani….a great day catching bass off Scorton Creek in Barnstable. Also, a picture of OAC member Henry O’Shaughnessy Jr. receiving his award for Northeast Junior Angler of July at the On The Water Striper Fest this past week end. In the team division, OAC placed 12^th overall and Henry Jr’s 43 lb bass was the #1 bass for Team OAC. Nice Fish!
