Custom Rod Building Class at OAC

Longtime OAC member George Noonan will lead a rod building course. The first class is Thursday January 31^st at 6 pm. If you would like to build your very own custom rod, please email or call Patricia. We have three 7′ spin rods and three “noodle rods”, which are fly rod blanks, modified for traditional spin reels, which allow an angler to throw very small lures to bonito and false albacore.

There are two ways to participate in this class: as an observer, just to see what it’s all about and perhaps pick up a few tricks on rod repairs. There is no cost to just show up. The second way is to build a rod. George is offering the rods to the OAC at his cost. He estimates each rod to cost around $75-$100 complete. Please let Patricia know if you have an interest to build a rod (spin or fly) and/or as an observer, so we have an idea as to the level of interest. We are planning a second class Thursday February 7^th at 6 pm.
