Opening Weekend Recap
This past Thursday member Walter Ungermann spoke to us for an hour and a half about his fishing pursuits around the globe. Walter is internationally known as a fly fisherman and is actively involved in the sport as chairman of the United States Youth Fly Fishing Team. He spends over 300 days a year on the water and has tremendous knowledge of sport fishing. We appreciate the advice and funny stories that Walter shared.
Friday Night our youth members caught lots of schoolie bass from the Crosby Docks. We had a nice cook out and it was great to see the kids catching fish and having a good time. There were 2 children that caught their first fish!!
Saturday & Sunday marked the start of our tournament season. Here are the results:

2012 OAC Corporate Sponsorship Program

National Safe Boating Week
From their website: Welcome to the 2012 North American Safe Boating Campaign! As National Safe Boating Week (May 19-25, 2012) and the season approaches, we are preparing for another campaign to spread the message of safe and responsible boating. This year, we will continue to educate the boating community about life jacket wear and the options that are available when it comes to comfortable and lightweight life jackets (Life Jacket Information). We are also working closely with our partner organizations to create a larger grassroots network and create a more consistent campaign message. We are hoping these collaborative efforts will increase awareness about the importance of always wearing life jackets while on the water. |
