Opening Weekend Starts Tonight !

*Tonight: Fly Fishing Q&A with Long-Time Member and Fishing Expert Walter Ungermann 6:00 pm

 

*Friday, May 18^th Youth Striper Night: Fishing from the Crosby Docks 5:00 pm

There will be a cookout with hamburgers & hot dogs.

*Important: Please have children wear life jackets while on the docks*

 

*Saturday, May 19^th Three Bays Spin/Fly Catch & Release Tournament (6-10am)

 

*Sunday, May 20^th Larry Coggeshall Season Opener (Bass & Blues) (6am-12pm)

 

 

Come to Captains Meeting tonight to learn about opening weekend and get details on: the basics of OAC tournaments, annual awards, how to get on the leader board and answers to any other tournament questions you may have — this is a great chance for new members to learn about what goes on with our tournaments throughout the year. We will be serving pizza.

Following captains meeting and discussion will be a Fly Fishing Q&A with long-time member and fishing expert Walter Ungermann, starting @6:00pm. Don’t miss it !

The 15th Annual Report to Congress on the Status of Stocks for 2011: A record number of rebuilt fisheries 

 

NOAA’s Fisheries Services released the 15th annual report to Congress on the nation’s Status of Stocks.  More than any previous year, the Status of Stocks Report for 2011 underscores the strength of the science-based management process and demonstrates we are actively turning the corner on ending overfishing and rebuilding our nationa’s fisheries.  A record number of stocks were declared rebuilt in 2011, with a decrease in both categories of overfishing and overfished determinations.  To read more, go to  Status of Stocks 2011 , where you can download a pdf of the report and related informational materials and links.
