Osterville Rotary Tournament This Saturday July 14th

Captains meeting will be Friday July 13^th at 6 pm at the OAC. Fishing is Saturday July 14^th 7 am – 2 pm lines out. Fish must be weighed by 4:30 pm. Entry fee is $200 per boat which includes 2 anglers. $50 for each additional angler. This is a bass & bluefish tournament. Each angler can weigh 1 bass and 1 bluefish. There is an inshore division for boats less than 26 ft. This is a Sellars eligible tournament. There are a couple OAC members looking to fish on a boat. If you have an extra spot, please call Tournament Chair Bruce Cunningham at 617-839-0939.

OAC Annual Meeting Next Monday July 16^th at 6 pm

The BOD would like to update the members on the current status of the club. We will serve chowder from The Islander and member Mike Dwyer will prepare meatball subs. Please RSVP to Patricia so we have a head count for food. 508-420-4336 or [email protected]

Fishing South of the Vineyard

This past Friday members Scott & Dick Swaylik, Bruce Cunningham and Jonathan Jaxtimer caught a 100 lb Mako shark on First Nichol about 20 miles south of the Vineyard. Great Fish! It was reported that Bruce Cunningham was catching blue sharks on his spinning gear!

Bass Fishing Remains Strong

The Monomoy area has continued to produce excellent bass fishing, however, it is no secret and the place is a mob scene. Member Charlie Richmond described it as a circus. Henry O reports some big bass caught on Gaelic Wake, including a 40 lb cow caught by Henry Jr.

Many members have been enjoying the club with all of the great weather. It is important to check all of the doors, windows and sliders when you leave. We just want to make sure the club can’t be accessed by non members. It only takes an extra minute to check everything on your way out. Thank you for taking the time.
