Tomorrow Night at the OAC
Friday May 15th – Youth Striper Night, 5:00-8:00 pm. Fishing from the Crosby docks and John’s Dogs Food Truck will be there with chowder, dinner and dessert. You do not need to RSVP, just show up. We encourage any members with children or grandchildren to stop by the club for this event. There is no charge, thanks to our generous corporate sponsors.
Sunday May 17th – Three Bay Spin/Fly Tournament, fishing 6:00 am – 10:00 am. Catch & release schoolie tournament. Meet at the club at 10:00 am after fishing. You do not need to register for this event…it is just for fun. Simply go out in the Three Bays, from boat or shore, and keep track of your total releases of bass and bluefish and stop by the club around 10 to report your totals.
Change of Plans!
Due to the lack of larger bass and bluefish, the Larry Coggeshall Season Opener will be held on Saturday, May 30th.
The captains meeting for the season opener will be Friday, May 29th at 6 pm
Season Opener Cocktail Party Saturday, May 30th 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Richard Merrick, NOAA Fisheries Chief Science Advisor and Director of Scientific Programs, released a statement announcing the agency’s decision to transition from a telephone survey to a mail survey to gather data on fishing trips of Atlantic and Gulf Coast saltwater recreational anglers. Although NOAA Fisheries will conduct both surveys in tandem for the next few years, we will not use the new data in fishery management decisions until 2018.
