 State fisheries officials presented the 2015 Massachusetts Saltwater Fishing Derby award for the Men’s Bonito Division to OAC member Michael Singer at a ceremony at the New England Boat Show in Boston. Michael’s bonito weighed in at five-pounds, six-ounces and was caught aboard the Gaelic Wake, with Captain Henry O’Shaughnessy south of Martha’s Vineyard. Captain Dave Peros and Amy Wrightson, the owner of Sports Port, will be there to share their knowledge and answer questions. It promises to be a worthwhile and informative night for women anglers of all skill levels. Feel free to ask the how’s and why’s without any intimidation or embarrassment. Bring tackle or rods and reels if there is anything you are unsure of.
