Derby Tournament Recap

This past Saturday we scored another picture perfect day for our tournament and had 14 boats out there as a result. Some boats headed offshore and although there were no tuna or shark weighed, several smaller makos were released by the Jaxtimers and Jim Crowley managed a cooler full of mahi. South of the Vineyard, the Gaelic Wake caught 8 bonito and Mike Singer, Rich Trifone and Dave Reid got on the board in that order. Dave Ryan put his anglers on a pile of bass and one of them got his first ever albie. Youth member Tyler Walantis also caught his first ever bonito, as did Kevin & Tamar Flaherty. Brian Clay and Ken Cirillo weighed false albacore and Sea Hunter brought back some fluke and nice blues. The Mitchell family also weighed some nice blues and Ed and Kathy Low managed several fluke while fishing with Ken Molloy. We had a nice BBQ back at the club. The derby runs until 6 pm October 17th.
