This past week end we had our annual one day derby tournament.  Of course the derby is a season long competition, but our one day event is a chance to do something a little different.  Several boats went offshore.  Team Thresher caught a number of large blue sharks, but nothing to bring back to the scale.  The Gaelic Wake also caught a number of blue sharks, but also managed a nice 112 lb mako.  Henry Jr. landed the mako and also picked up the top two bonito for the day at 5.8 and 6.05 lbs.  These fish scored some good points and Henry Jr. now has the 2^nd place mako and 2^nd and 3^rd place bonito, which gives him the first place spot overall in the derby with 42 points.  His younger brother Michael is dominating the youth division with 67 points.  Frank Torbey and George Scheppler caught some nice bass and blues, including a 13.70 lb chopper, caught by a friend on board.  There were many other bonito caught south of MV and Nantucket including some caught by Art Hughes, Charlie Richmond, Steve Bunnell, Rob Miller and Bruce Cunningham.  Thanks to Fran Clay for organizing the nice dinner Saturday night and Bob Clay, Anne Marie & Steve Tenaglia and Kathy Low for helping.  There were 35+ members attending with food from the Chart Room.  For current derby standings, click on the following link:  OAC Derby Leaderboard
