OAC Derby Update

Dave Ryan weighed in a nice 32 lb striped bass and a 3 lb black sea bass to move into 1st for both species. His son Nathan also had a nice 2.9 lb black sea bass, which is good enough for first in the youth division.

Remember, derby points are not cumulative. The final derby results, when the derby ends at 6 pm October 19th, will be determined by the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of each species at that time. We post the standings so everyone is aware of what fish are worth weighing in. For example, it’s not worth weighing a 10 lb bluefish in the adult division, since 3rd place is already 12.15 lbs. However, there have not been any bonito weighed in, so you would want to weigh in any bonito at this point. Someone could have 20 points today and zero points 3 weeks from now. Points are calculated as follows:

1st place = 10 points

2nd place = 6 points

3rd place = 5 points
